A development completed in conjunction with PfR and The Home Office to use waste land within the grounds of the Isle of Sheppey Prison Complex, Davidson Walsh were brought in to investigate what were anticipated to be very unfavorable ground conditions prior to finalising the type of turbine foundation to be used. The initial appraisal had indicated a very complex piled solution would be required, which was subsequently revised following detailed site assessment and soils analysis confirming that a shallow ground bearing foundation taken into the London Clay would meet the stringent design parameters. In addition to the geotechnical assessment our engineers provided all civil engineering design and infrastructure detailing for the wind farm project.
