Delivering Solar Energy
Working with key players in the renewables industry we are preparing a series of standard designs and securing type approval from the Regional Network Operators for the associated Buildings and Civil Engineering structures to allow our Clients to deliver and commission Solar Parks at an accelerated rate across the UK. We are also helping a key Client with appraisals of large scale roof top solar arrays on existing industrial buildings in a number of UK locations.
Expanding the Team
As a result of our success in securing additional work with our existing Clients and in developing new relationships we have added a new graduate engineer to our Structural Design Team and are updating our graduate training scheme and to provide a structured route to Chartered status via The Institution of Structural Engineers training scheme. We are looking also to expand our team of technicians to cover the increasing workload.
Dalby Wind Park
After completion of the Civil Engineering work and hand over of the completed foundations, ahead of program, the erection of the nine turbines is now well underway with the Wind Park on course to be operational by the end of the year as planned.
We have worked over the summer with a number of the UK’s leading housebuilders including Barratt Homes and Taylor Wimpey to bring residential development sites on stream with large scale developments in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Cardiff and Bristol. We have also assisted a number of Clients to secure permission to bring redundant agricultural buildings into residential use following the recent changes to the National Planning Policy Framework with detailed structural assessments of the existing structure to confirm their suitability. Work has recently been completed on a number of individual houses in and around The Cotswolds, combining energy efficient design, heat recovery and on site renewable generation with traditional design to provide elegant family homes that protect and enhance the local environment.
